Winter Sessions Complete

CONGRATULATIONS to our Winter Session 2 winners, Blue Steel (coed) and Blade Catchers (women's)!

Blue Steel -- Winter Session 2 Coed Champions

Blue Steel -- Winter Session 2 Coed Champions

Blue Steel led wire-to-wire, finishing up with a record of 7-1-1.

The women's session was a different story;  going into the final games, every team had a record of 4-4.  We would have two winners on Sunday, and plus-minus would determine the overall champion.

Pylons pulled out a victory, and made things close with their 25-8 final tally;  but the Blade Catchers were just too far ahead in plus-minus, and a 17-15 result in their favour was all they needed to sew up the championship.

Many thanks to our Champion captains JP and Erin, as well as captains Austin, Chris, Jenn, Joy, Katie, and Will.  And thanks to everyone who played with us this winter -- see you on the field!

Winter sessions are in full swing!

Once again there was a delay with the installation and readiness of the bubble facility at Jean Vanier Catholic School at Bronte and Louis St. Laurent -- this is the third year that the facility has been run jointly by the Town and the Catholic School Board -- but our coed league started on time and our women's league was delayed only one week.

Both leagues have their inaugural games in the books and we're off to a great start!  Our Women's League is the best place for newbies to get their feet wet, and also the best place for experienced players to work on their handling skills as they will get lots of touches!

Our Thursday coed league continues to be our most popular league -- all of the male spots are filled and we are taking wait list registrations only.

The Town has very limited availability in this facility but there are some openings Friday nights... perhaps we will run some pickup games on a drop-in basis?

Let us know if you're interested!

COED SESSION STARTS TONIGHT!

We just got word from the Town of Milton that although not all of the lights will be on at the bubble tonight, there will be sufficient light to open the venue.  Having been delayed six days, it has come in just under the wire for our Intermediate Coed Speedpoint league to start on time!

Winter Session 1 is complete!

Congratulations to Victorious Secret, winners of our inaugural Women's Indoor league, as well as Huck-a-billies, winners of our coed league!

Session 2 starts this week -- women's league runs Sundays from 7:15 to 8:15 PM starting February 8th, and the coed league runs Thursdays from 9:10 PM to 10:10 PM starting February 12th.  Both leagues run in the Bubble at Bronte and Louis St. Laurent.

Congratulations to...

...Anne-Marie Rasmussen, a MUC member, who participated in the ITU World Triathlon Grand Final in Edmonton, Alberta this past weekend!

Anne-Marie was one of a contingent of Canadians participating in the final and she finished 25th in her age group in a time of 2:28:54!  Way to go Anne-Marie!
